22. International Congress of Dento-Maxillofacial Radiology-IADMFR 2019

Dear fellow IADMFR members and Colleagues,

The 22nd International Congress of Dento-Maxillo-Facial Radiology (ICDMFR) will be held on August 22-25, 2019 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the Congress, I welcome you from all over the world to attend our great biannual event of the International Association of Dento-Maxillo-Facial Radiology (IADMFR). The Congress will present the latest technology, advances, and research in oral and maxillofacial radiology. It will also provide extensive training in clinical oral and maxillofacial radiology, as well as in head and neck radiology.

Oral and maxillofacial radiology is in a golden age of development. IADMFR must put an effort to promote the specialty as a major recognized dental specialty in the world, just like medical radiology, which is a leading force in the development and advancement of modern medicine. We are living in a quickly changing digital era, the world of dental community becomes smaller with development of teleradiology and teledentistry. We have never been so close and dependent on each other. We must continue to share our knowledge and provide expertise to our colleagues. We therefore can promote health by providing advanced diagnostic services to our patients.

With the fast development of new imaging technology we are constantly required to keep up to date with the emerging knowledge in the field. To promote our specialty internationally, we must include our radiology colleagues from all over the world. We may be from different continents, speak different languages, and have different cultural backgrounds and economic status, but we all share the same passion for dento-maxillo-facial radiology. We must involve everyone to help them grow. We must encourage all to attend the IADMFR’s international congress and to take the opportunity to enhance our educational, research, and diagnostic skills. No matter how vast our experience in diagnostic imaging is, our knowledge will always be limited without collaboration. The international congress is an excellent opportunity for us to learn from each other, as well as from the manufacturers. The 22nd ICDMFR organizing committee will strive to attract all major world imaging companies, researchers, radiologists, dentists, and other dental specialists to present their latest research and development in technology to the 2019 IADMFR Congress.

Philadelphia is a large and celebrated city in the United States. It was the first capital of our Country. As the birthplace of not only American history but also medical history, the first hospital, first medical school and first medical library, two of the country’s oldest dental schools are located in Philadelphia: Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry, established in 1863, and the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Dental Medicine, established in 1878. Philadelphia is considered to be an ideal location for world-class healthcare conventions and meetings, conveniently located between New York City and Washington DC in the northeast coast of the United States.

The 22nd ICDMFR will be held in Loews Philadelphia Hotel, Downtown Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. The hotel is located in the nation’s first skyscraper and the City Center. We expect that the congress will attract record attendees of Dento-Maxillo-Facial radiologists from world-wide.

Philadelphia has a beauty unlike any other city in the world. We look forward to seeing all of you in the City of Brotherly Love in 2019!
