12. Congress of the European Menopause and Andropause Society

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 12th Congress of the European Menopause and Andropause Society to be held in Berlin on 15 - 17 May 2019.

The theme of the Congress is “Managing Midlife Health and Beyond in the Era of e-Medicine”

Internet and mobile technologies have rapidly changed the world in which we live in. The way we practice medicine is no exception. Rapid access to medical information, open access to science, the unprecedented, easy interconnection between physicians and scientists provide a twist to clinical practice and sometimes challenge the ability of physicians to cope with this flood of information. Patients today can make more informed decisions due to the availability of patient-oriented web resources. However, the reliability of these sources is not always of help to clinicians. Woman’s health and diseases are viral topics and websites and resources targeting these areas flourish. Changes are always opportunities and medical congresses need to embrace them.

The main objective of the Congress will be to provide a new perspective of the medical and sociological aspects of woman’s health and disease at midlife and beyond, with a view to how our changing society challenges or helps us in our daily practice.

We are excited to introduce two new program elements: The EMAS School on Wednesday, 15 May 2019, which will attract medical professionals who are new to the specialty; the German Day on Friday, 17 May 2019, will have sessions in the German language and draw on experts from the German-speaking world. The Congress will thus offer innovative formats in addition to the classic plenary speeches and symposia, with sessions where interaction and exchange of clinical expertise will be the main goal, making the participants the true protagonists.

There is no better city in the world to host this innovative event than Berlin. The capital of Germany is a place where history and modernity melt together. It is the heart of modern Europe and the visible demonstration of how quickly things can evolve. The city is renowned for its distinctive history, modern economy, diverse architecture and high quality of living. The friendly and informal atmosphere in Berlin will provide a productive and relaxing backdrop to three days of sharing science.

EMAS 2019 will be held at Berlin ExpoCenter City, on the Messe Berlin exhibition grounds where leading international conferences and trade shows are held. With its two international airports and major train station, Berlin is easy to get to by air or rail. Its excellent and safe public transportation system makes moving around the city effortless. It is also known as the European capital city with the best value for the money. Completing its appeal is its wide range of hotels in many price categories.
