Welcome from the Conference Co-Chairs
As Co-Chairs of the Annual Meeting, and on behalf of the Organizing Committee and the ISCT Executive Management Committee, we are excited to invite you to join us in Melbourne for our 25th Annual Scientific meeting. It has been 12 years since the meeting was last held in Australia and we are delighted to welcome you back “down under”.
This year’s program features state-of-the-art plenary sessions that include immunotherapy, tissue engineering, pluripotent stem cells, mesenchymal stem cells and a session focused on novel technologies. We aim to bring you the latest clinical trials and developments in cell and gene therapy, with sessions and dedicated tracks to delve into the technical, quality, regulatory, ethics and commercialization frontiers. Whether you are an early stage professional or long-lived in the field, a clinician or technician, in academic research or in industry, there will be sessions relevant to you; we know it takes the whole field working together to translate cellular therapy into safe and effective therapies to improve patients’ lives. There will be ample opportunities to build new networks and renew old friendships during the day and in the evening programs.
Melbourne is one of the most livable cities in the world, with its many gardens and eclectic architecture, beautiful rivers and bay, fabulous food and café culture, its cultural precincts and so many places to explore. It is a city proud of its academic, clinical, research and industry prowess. The Meeting venue is world-class, in the heart of the city, with spaces conducive to learning, networking and sharing. This year, we will hold a fun walk/run along the Yarra river, across the city’s cultural and entertainment precinct, so don’t forget your running gear.
