It gives us great pleasure to invite you to the World Congress on Science and Football that will be hosted by Victoria University's Institute for Health & Sport .
The 9th World Congress on Science and Football (WCSF2019) will be held from 4 - 7 June 2019 in Melbourne, Australia.
The multidisciplinary congress will gather international academics, researchers from the natural, human and social sciences, as well as practitioners and professionals from industry and government.
It will highlight innovation and the newest translational research and applied approaches within ﬁve codes of football: Soccer, Rugby, and Australian, American and Gaelic Football.
The congress will promote the use of science in football and ensure the outcomes are transitioned to practitioners in all football codes. There is a need to involve stakeholders from all football codes to highlight the newest research results and scientific methodologies to ensure that strategies support the application of these approaches.
We need to create strong connections across all the diverse disciplines working in science and football by knowing more about what stakeholders require, by creating better connections between research, practice and strategy, and by making a difference to practice through high quality translational research for the greater football family.
This desire to be inclusive of and engage with all codes of football has led to the congresses major theme:
