The 12. European Meeting on Adult Congenital Heart Disease-EuroGUCH 2021

Let us begin by sending our best wishes for your health and safety during this difficult period.

In this unusual year in which many scientific conferences have been cancelled or switched from face-to-face meetings to virtual meetings due to the coronavirus pandemic, we are very pleased to announce that the Working Group on Adult Congenital Heart Disease is planning to organize the virtual edition of the 12th Annual Congress, EUROGUCH 2021.

In the current scenario, the organization of the next European meeting of our Working Group is an unprecedented challenge that we undertake with enthusiasm. We think that an appealing scientific program may be attractive for international participants as well as it may guarantee a sufficient level of attendance.

The scientific program will be organised in different sessions with a guiding thread: we will chronologically go through the different waves of evolving issues that the adult cardiologists have needed to face since babies born with a congenital heart disease survive to adulthood. Initially, the challenges of organization of healthcare and diagnostic approach, that currently has evolved to incorporate the most modern non-invasive diagnostic tools. Later, our adolescents and young adults, and with them the physicians who take care of them, faced the risk of arrhythmias, sudden cardiac death and thereupon re-interventions and its indications. And finally, as ACHD population ages, the management of co-morbidities and heart failure or advance care planning has to be an integral part of the comprehensive care for adults with congenital heart disease. Rapid fire sessions, case-based symposiums and debates provide a unique opportunity for intense interaction between the audience and experts in various fields of congenital cardiology and will allow in-depth discussion of ongoing questions.
