SWAN Trauma Critical Care and Emergency Surgery Conference 2019

It is with very great pleasure that we once again welcome you to the SWAN Trauma, Critical Care and Emergency Surgery Conference. With another world renown international faculty from Canada, the United States, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and South Africa as well as our own national experts in trauma care, this conference promises to be a fantastic mix of lectures, great debates, interactive case scenarios, key note speeches, prize winning competitions and Q and A sessions. There is also our popular free paper session for all to have a chance at presenting their current work and scientific research.

SWAN 2019 will ask the difficult questions in our popular “Hard Talk” sessions as well as have heated discussions on the controversies and complexities of trauma and emergency surgery care. We will focus on Disaster Management exploring this from a number of perspectives. Our annual great debate will again entertain and our real life case scenarios will continue to generate great dispute, deliberation and discourse. We will again have our dedicated Nursing Forum which last year was immensely well received. New to this year’s program will be a Radiology session and a dedicated Regional and Rural session.

In the last SWAN Conference we were extremely privileged and honoured to have Dr Richard Harris, the world famous cave rescue Specialist, speak with us about his extraordinary Thai mission and take a long Q and A session which was absolutely phenomenal. In SWAN 2019 we hope to have another “Special” surprise guest which will be announced on the day.

SWAN 2019 will for the first time have a preconference section on the Thursday, with two Courses. The first one for those of you interested and passionate about quality in trauma care and performance improvement, we will be running TOPIC (Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement Course). The second Course will be a Disaster Management and Emergency Preparedness Course.

This conference will ensure you are up to date with the latest and greatest innovations and research in trauma and emergency surgery management as well as give you the privilege of sharing the vast experience and knowledge of our faculty of experts as well as other delegates involved in trauma care.
