HISTORICAL WATER STRUCTURES
Turkey has hosted many civilizations throughout history. Along with thousands of years of history, it is one of the most important open-air museums of the world with its historic water structures that continue to function today. Water structures have been built in the past for purposes such as the accumulation, transmission and sanctification of water. Apart from these functions, it is also a universal cultural heritage with its architectural design.
WATERIST - Istanbul Water Congress and Fair holds academic sessions that will be repeated every year. The theme of the academic sessions in 2018 has been determined as "Historical Water Structures". In this context, the sessions between 11th and 12th of October 2018 will cover historical water structures which are cultural, architectural and historical heritage of our nation.
