Greetings from The City Beautiful- Chandigarh…!

On behalf of the organising committee of APCON 2019, we extend a warm invitation to all to attend the 68th Annual National Conference of Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists (IAPM) and International Academy of Pathology-Indian Division (IAP-ID) – APCON 2019, to be held from December 5th to 8th, 2019 at Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. After hosting successful APCONs in 1979, 1990 and 2007, we are gearing up to host yet another memorable APCON in 2019.

There has been a tremendous progress in the field of Pathology over the last decade and we hope to provide the delegates with an opportunity to update themselves with the recent advances in this field, especially keeping in focus what is relevant and applicable to the region. A balance of carefully chosen international and national experts will assist in deliberation. The topics will cover laboratory aspects, basic science, translational research and clinical updates on the entire spectrum of Pathology.

Our theme for 2019 is ‘Genetics Decodes Morphology’ and with this in mind, we have programmed the scientific sessions of the conference. A great care has been taken to design the program in a way that interests everyone from a post-graduate student to consultant. Interaction and discussion will be given greater priority over didactic lectures. We expect to have high quality academic submissions for free papers and posters. We also expect our delegates to participate in a meaningful discussion with the speakers to make this conference successful in true sense.

Apart from the rich scientific program, we wish to introduce a concept of ‘Late Evening Sessions’ either as a part of APCON or before the APCON following a working dinner in lines with the USCAP strategy. Owing to the uniqueness of the City and PGIMER being a premiere Institute, the event is expected to surpass all earlier APCONs in terms of registration, scientific content and industry participation.
