Dear colleague,
A warm welcome to Hamburg, Germany´s port to the world, hosting the 2019 XXXIII ESVS Annual Meeting. You will be charmed by the Hanseatic flair, the open-minded people and the beauty of this stunning northern seaside city.
Our scientific program takes place in the Hamburg Messe Halls, a few minutes’ walk from reasonably priced hotels, the city centre, Hamburg’s Central Parc “Planten un Blomen” and the beautiful Alster lakes. We have the honour of being welcomed by the Senator for Science Research and Equation of Hamburg in the unique Hamburg City hall, and you will have numerous networking opportunities at our welcome party in the Ratsherrn Brewery just behind the Messe (where we will celebrate the 25 year anniversary of our European Surgeons in Training), the ESVS dinner-party in the Au Quai venue on the banks of the Elbe River and the Harbour, and the meeting itself. Come and be captivated by the vibrant mixture of cultures and architecture styles. Walk or cycle around the numerous highlights of Hamburg; its beautiful riverside, the Alster river arms with marvelous country residences and villa gardens, the city downtown with unique shopping opportunities, and visit the numerous museums, Art Hall, and music halls – in particular the extraordinary Elbphilharmony, covering three unique concert halls, where a concert will be organized for you on Friday evening.
This meeting will prioritise connecting our unique community; sharing expertise of the world´s most renowned experts, and providing learning opportunities for everyone, with the world´s most outstanding scientific program covering the entire field of vascular surgery and medicine, including our Academy program with numerous courses, training sessions and seminars: the week will be packed with science and training. Participate in burning debates and discussions, breaking clinical trial news, our Volodos and Powell honorary lectures, consensus including the newest ESVS guidelines, and update sessions with our voting system.
Again, the UEMS Vascular examinations will take place - they are located at a separate training and education facility with ideal capacity and facilities for this important event.
