Engineering Technology and Management Summit-ETMS 2023

The 5th INTERNATIONAL ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT SUMMIT, organized jointly by Istanbul Technical University and Bahcesehir University will be held in Istanbul, Türkiye during October 19-20, 2023.

The theme for ETMS 2023 is “ROLE of ENGINEERING and TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT in TIMES of EXTREME UNCERTAINTY”. Managing uncertainty has always been part of Engineering. However, recently humanity has been experiencing an era of extreme uncertainty due to natural causes such as devastating earthquakes or human-made causes such as the rapid development of AI. It becomes clearer with each day that the future will demand very different competencies compared to those we have today. We are in an era which we redefine concepts, phenomenon, so called “normal”, and our roles within. Hence, the role of engineering and technology management is not immune to such developments in these times of extreme uncertainty.

During the summit, the opportunities and challenges that come with these times of extreme uncertainty will be discussed from business, technological, societal, and environmental perspectives. We would like to emphasize the changing and transforming role of the engineering management field and what might extreme uncertainty bring to the profession.

We invite academics, researchers, students, and professionals who are interested in presenting research and share experience, knowledge, and ideas in the field of Engineering and Technology Management to participate in ETMS 2023. Virtual participation will also be available via Zoom.
