Welcome from ASGBI President Elect
This year I am delighted to invite you all to the beautiful Yorkshire spa town of Harrogate for our ASGBI annual conference " The Changing Face of Surgery" 17-19th May 2023.
As befits an organisation with over 100 years of history, we will continue to deliver our traditional sessions, with speakers from The Royal Colleges of Surgery and the recently knighted President of the Royal College of Physicians. We will award the long-established highly prestigious Moynihan prize, BJS prize and ASGBI Gold Medal to outstanding trainees.
However, aligned with our theme, many of those speakers and others throughout the program will represent the changing face of surgery and reflect the breadth of our membership as the umbrella organisation for general surgery. We will continue to support our trainees with the popular "Breakfast Academy" and "Trainee Village". We embrace technology and hope to offer delegates lots of hands-on opportunities with digital, robotic and other minimal access technology.
It will be thought-provoking, educational, and an opportunity to learn and network. I am hugely looking foward to seeing you there!!
