The International Network on Hepatitis in Substance Users (INHSU) is an international, not-for-profit, member-based organization dedicated to scientific knowledge exchange, education, and advocacy focused on hepatitis C (HCV) prevention and care with people who use drugs.
Globally, HCV related morbidity and mortality is rising with people who inject drugs (PWID) accounting for the majority of new (90%) and existing (65-70%) cases of HCV in many high- and middle-income countries. However, following the advent of well-tolerated, simple, short-course direct acting antiviral (DAA) interferon-free HCV regimens with cure rates >95%, there is potential to reverse the rising burden of advanced liver disease with increased treatment.

Hosted by INHSU the conference covers the latest advances on hepatitis C epidemiology, management and treatment of viral hepatitis among people who use drugs, with a specific focus on hepatitis C. Through dissemination of scientific knowledge, the conference aims to contribute to the World Health Organization’s goal of eliminating hepatitis C by 2030.
The conference has a truly international focus attracting delegates from around the world, including health professionals (doctors, nurses and allied health), researchers, representatives from community organisations, people who use drugs and policy makers.
