32. International Symposium on Pediatric Surgical Research-ISPSR 2019

Dear Colleagues and friends,

It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the 32nd International Symposium on Pediatric Surgical Research in Fukuoka, Japan from September 6–8, 2019. Japan will host this Symposium for the second time after Tokyo held on September 12-14, 2010 by Prof. Yamataka. The ancient name of Fukuoka was NANOKUNI. NANOKUNI was the first country which was identified in the old Chinese record at AD 57. “Gold Stamp” is the evidence which shows that the presence of NANOKUNI. Fukuoka is located in Kyushu, one of the main 4 lands of Japan. Kyushu is the most west and south islands. Fukuoka is the north shore of Kyushu, therefore, Fukuoka is close to Korea, China, Taiwan, and several Asian countries. Since AD 57 Fukuoka has been the gate of Japan, especially opening to Asian countries. Traffic to Fukuoka is very convenient. We have lots of direct flight from main Asian cities. And lots of domestic flights from Tokyo (Haneda and Narita) in 90 minutes and from Kansai in 60 minutes. Bullet train “Shinkansen” is also convenient and punctual between Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, Kagoshima and Fukuoka.

The venue of the symposium is Hilton Fukuoka Seahawk Hotel. This is the largest hotel in Fukuoka, which has more than 1000 guest rooms, several congress rooms of various sizes, lots of meeting rooms, and lots of restaurants including Japanese and Asian cuisines. This hotel is located in the seashore, and next to Fukuoka Yahoo dome, and the brand new shopping center ”MARK IS FUKUOKA MOMOCHI”. You can enjoy resort atmosphere, baseball game, and shopping. There are also lots of hotels around Hilton Fukuoka as well as in the downtown area and JR Hakata station at reasonable rates.

For the 30th ISPSR 2017 in New Delhi and the 31st ISPSR 2018 in Taormina, the organisers incorporated a one day Symposium on an “Update on Newborn and Fetal Surgery” and “Controversies and Challenges in Pediatric Surgery” respectively. These resulted in great success and attracted many more delegates. For The 32th ISPSR 2019, we will also organise a one day workshop on September 6. Several internationally renowned pediatric surgeons will be contributing to the workshop.

The 32nd International Symposium on Pediatric Research aims to provide a unique opportunity for young pediatric surgeons and research fellows to present their clinical and laboratory research. This meeting will bring together clinicians and basic scientists from all over the world in order to exchange their knowledge on all aspects of pediatric surgical diseases. Over the years, the International Symposium on Pediatric Surgical Research has become a global research forum for presenting high quality research.
