28. Annual Conference of The Association of Gynaecologic Oncologists of India-AGOICON 2020

Welcome to Kolkata, the city of phenomenal women. The city of Rani Rashmoni, founder of Dakshineswar Kali Temple, without whose generous donation it would not have been possible to build Asia’s first medical college. The city of Dr.Kadambini Ganguly, India’s first female physician, the city of Mother Teresa who showed to the rest of the world that the city of joy is also the city of benevolence and kindness.

We, at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata, take great pleasure in inviting you all to the 28th annual conference of the Association of Gynaecologic Oncologists of India (AGOI), to be held from 20th-22nd November 2020 at the state of the artBiswa Bangla Convention Centre, Kolkata.

AGOI is a multidisciplinary professional organization encompassing expertise from gynaecologic oncologists, gynaecologists, surgical, medical and radiation oncologists, pathologists, preventive oncologists and palliative care specialists from all over India and abroad dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and palliative care for women suffering from cancer of the reproductive system. At the 28th conference in Kolkata, we not only vow to bring you the latest in knowledge and skills in the field of gynaecologic oncology, we promise to bring you an experience that you will cherish for a long time to come. There will be pre-congress workshops to cater for trainees of all ages to update themselves with the latest evidences and controversies in gynaecologic oncology and experts from all over the world to share with you their knowledge and expertise in gynaecologic oncology.

Conceptualised in the year 2004 as a philanthropic initiative for the Eastern and North-Eastern parts of India and the neighbouring countries, Tata Medical Center started operations in Kolkata in May 16, 2011. The hospital is governed by the charity Tata Medical Center Trust. It is an integrated oncology facility with highly-trained, professional staff,empowered with modern infrastructure and equipment.

AGOICON 2020 is dedicated to the phenomenal women who fight the battle against the emperor of all maladies and inspire us to do even better to improve their survival and quality of life. As Swami Vivekananda mentions “Women in statesmanship, managing territories, governing countries, even making war, have proved themselves equal to men — if not superior,” let us all gather to celebrate the phenomenal women and indulge ourselves in the academic feast that will strengthen them for a better life during their fight against cancer.
