After the great success of SMA Europe’s first International Scientific Congress on spinal muscular atrophy in Krakow, we are happy to announce that we will be holding a second International Congress on spinal muscular atrophy, between 5th and 7th February 2020 in Evry, France.
The recent development of new therapies for SMA is changing the landscape of our disease in such a way that there is an increasing need to get the research and clinical community together to share and learn. It is of utmost importance for patients to ensure that new findings about the disease are communicated: from new phenotypes and modifier agents, to predictive methods for patient responses, to innovation in care. All of this has a huge impact on the future of the patients and their families.
An ambitious programme has been designed. Leading experts in the field, from around the globe, will present their latest work and will share their views on the future of the disease. This future, we can already say, is changing in a dramatic way. For patient representatives, it is important to ensure that these positive changes happen in an accelerated way and reach all patients around the world.
