16. International Conference on Wind Engineering-ICWE 2023

Dear friends and colleagues of the Wind Engineering community,

this is our first notice for welcoming You back to Europe, back to Florence, the city cradle of European Renaissance, in August 2023 (27th-31st). This message will be periodically upgraded while the organization of the Conference will proceed; please, consult regularly the website to be updated with all the developments and the deadlines.

Florence shall warmly welcome You, the wind engineering community, 14 years after the EACWE (2009); together with its University, with ANIV (Italian Association for Wind Engineering) and CRIACIV (Inter-University Research Centre on Building Aerodynamics and Wind Engineering) communities, our city will open its arms to comfortably host You while attending the 16th International Conference on Wind Engineering.

Once overcome the uncertainties in the preparation, due to still incumbent pandemic, we are now able to announce dates and venue of the event, i.e August 27th-31st, 2023 at the downtown Congress Hall (Palazzo dei Congressi, Villa Vittoria).

After more than two years of confined/reduced life (due to the COVID19), our international activity is resuming slowly; we all wish to have a new start for reaching new targets, fully confident in the profound and priceless value of international cooperation in science and technology, without physical nor cultural barriers of any kind. Therefore, for the time being, we aim to organize and to host a fully on-site conference.

We are confident that you will join us in Florence to attend ICWE2023, a unique occasion to meet and discuss personally with experts from all over the world. Hopefully the weather will cooperate with moderate temperature and mild wind, in particular for our technical visits which will be planned on September 1st, 2023.
