16. European Congress of Paediatric and Adolescent Cynaecology-EURAPAG 2024

Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology (PAG) is a clinical subspecialty that bridges knowledge from various disciplines covering a wide range of topics related to gynaecological problems in childhood and adolescence.

During the XV World Congress of Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology in São Paulo, Brazil in May 2007, a separate meeting of European participants proposed the establishment of a European Association of Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology – EURAPAG.

EURAPAG was officially founded on the 28th of March 2008 in Prague and was (and remains) registered with the Minister of Interior of the Czech Republic. The first meeting of delegates took place the same year at what was known by then as the 11th European Congress of PAG.

The Objectives of EURAPAG, include promotion of a high standard of care for children and adolescents with gynaecological problems, as well as supporting research and education in PAG towards the development and implementation of new insights and improvement in health, quality of life and future fertility. This also encompasses stimulating international co-operation, including proposing guidelines particularly aimed at good clinical practice with regard to prevention, diagnosis, procedures and all forms of treatment.

The Association is made up of European National PAG-societies and individual gynaecologists, paediatricians or other professionals with an interest in paediatric and adolescent gynaecology from those countries where no national PAG society exists. The founding colleagues were Jan Horejsi† of the Czech Republic, Marlene Heinz of Germany, Efthimios Deligeoroglou of Greece, Tamas Csermely of Hungary, Gabriele Tridenti of Italy and Zuzana Nižňanská of Slovakia, the last two of whom are still active Board Members.

Since its establishment EURAPAG has steadily grown. The Association now has members from 33 countries. We welcome you to the 16th EURAPAG congress in 2024 in Thessaloniki!
