13. International Congress on Extremophiles

Dear Colleagues and friends,

We regret to inform you that we have decided to postpone again the 13th International Congress on Extremophiles to September 2022.

The prognosis for the pandemic does not allow us to organize the congress in a face to face way as scheduled next September 2021.

The 13th International Congress on Extremophiles will be held in September 18th – 22nd 2022, same location and venue in Greece (Club Hotel Casino Loutraki).

In our opinion, online meetings can never fully substitute regular meetings, but in order to keep the scientific community in touch, we are organizing a free two days WEBINAR which will be held the 22nd and 23rd September 2021 starting at 15h00 and ending at 18h00 CET.

The Extremophiles Congress has a long tradition of almost a quarter of a century. The first meeting was organized in Japan in 1996 by Prof. Horikoshi, followed by excellent meetings every two years worldwide.

It has been an honour and privilege to be part of the Extremophiles family. These meetings helped to build links and networks with many scientists and friends all over the world. Therefore, it is very sad that we will not be able to meet this year in Greece. We are, however, confident, that we will master this challenge, but we will have for sure a different world in the future (the Post Corona world). We are thankful to Konstantinos Vorgias and the local organizers for their willing to organize the meeting in September 2022 in Greece.

We hope for your understanding and let us meet next year in September 2022 in Greece. Of course we will keep you updated.
