11. International Society for Hip Arthroscopy Annual Scientific Meeting-ISHA 2019

Welcome to ISHA 2019!

On behalf of ISHA – The Hip Preservation Society, we would like to welcome you to the 11th ISHA Annual Scientific Meeting, to be held in Madrid, Spain, from 17th – 19th October 2019.

The ISHA 2019 Annual Scientific meeting will build on the foundations of a meeting of scientific excellence with attracts world wide arthroscopic and open hip surgeons, hip preservation and rehabilitation professionals, to present and exchange their knowledge, best practice and important research results.

The program will focus on the best and latest science and will aim to accommodate the needs and interests of everyone with an interest in hip preservation. Each day will have a focus on the different components of the overall strategy necessary in the treatment of simple and complex hip disorders.

Interspersed throughout the program will be debates, highlight lectures, symposia, and instructional courses focusing on the most current and controversial topics in hip preservation. We will plan networking activities within the program, providing each of you an opportunity to interact on a personal level with the thought leaders from around the world.

A pre-conference day of activities is planned on the 16th October to enable consensus groups and those with specific regional interests to come together to discuss treatment practices.

Madrid is a sunny and renowned cultural city, which hosts some of the best museums of the continent and is worldwide known for its gastronomy and its vibrant nightlife. Nearby historical towns (Toledo, Segovia, Ávila, El Escorial) are wonderful to visit and we hope you may be able to extend your day.

ISHA 2019 will be held at the Meliá Castilla, Hotel and Congress Centre, one of the largest hotels in Europe which provides ideal facilities under one roof, enabling attendees to network and engage during sessions and more informally once the official programme has ended each day. The Meliá Castilla is located close to the in the city centre with excellent access to and from any part of the city. It is placed next to Paseo de la Castellana, and close to other City attractions.

A Commercial exhibition will be held as an integral part of ISHA 2019. We plan to incorporate refreshment breaks and poster viewing in these areas to ensure there is a central “engagement hub” promoting dialogue and discussion outside of sessions. Industry-led luncheon seminars will round up the programme.
