1. International Aromatic Plants and Cosmetics Symposium-AROPCOS 2019

Dear and Esteemed Participants,

Since the first human, plants, especially aromatic and fragrant, have always been used for different purposes. They have been used for living longer and better looking. Turkey, which has thousands of endemic plants has a great treasure in this respect. On the other hand, in the 21st century, the cosmetic sector has become one of the largest markets in the world, and it seems that it has found multiple ways to realize the dreams of youth for thousands of years. Concerns about health have led to the prominence of natural originated cosmetic products. And this has been a very important opportunity for Turkey. Being a global actor in this sector is only possible by using our own resources of plant raw materials correctly and accelerating qualified R&D activities.

Iğdır is a good raw material supplier for Turkey and it has a commercial importance because of its strategic location. For increasing the share of our province in the cosmetic sector, which is known for being the only province that has borders to three countries in the world, for raising awareness about the potential of our province in this sector and for sharing advanced knowledge of the cosmetic sector, International Aromatic Plants and Cosmetics Symposium will be held in Iğdır between 3-6 October 2019.

Within the scope of the symposium, the cosmetics sector will be discussed in every aspect. This symposium, which we hope to learn all the stages of cosmetic products from the experts who have international competence in this sector, is important for the economy of our country. This symposium includes not only the stages starting from the raw material to the product, but also quality control and all the stages until it reaches the customer. This information is also very important because it has the potential to be applied industrially.

Iğdır is our unique city where the Mediterranean climate is experienced in Eastern Anatolia and has a significant part of our ecological diversity. Hereby, we will be very pleased and honored to welcome you in Iğdır.
